Wavves is the latest act to let slip about his place on this year's Splendour in the Grass line-up, jumping the gun on Twitter before the official announcement on Wednesday.
Nathan Williams revealed his Australian plans on in a reply to Sam Gill – one half of DJ duo Naysayer and Gilsun.
Wavves join The National, Cold War Kids and The Polyphonic Spree on the list of bands already confirmed for the three-day festival in Byron Bay in July.
The National frontman Matt Berninger confirmed the five-piece would be playing at Splendour in an interview with Triple J Magazine earlier this month, Tim DeLaughter from The Polyphonic Spree let the cat out of the bag on Twitter back in January, while Cold War Kids have hinted to Triple J’s Zan Rowe and FasterLouder that they will be here for a festival in late July – subtle guys!
Strong rumours also surround Glaswegian synth-pop outfit CHVCHES, who recently announced three dates for Sydney and Melbourne, conveniently planned for the days following the festival.
Other hot favourites include Mumford and Sons, who recently signed with Dew Process in Australia, James Blake, who just released his much-awaited follow up album Overgrown and Frank Ocean who is yet to make the trip out to Australia.
One big name that you can definitely rule out is Bob Dylan. Although, SMH writer Damien Murphy made the claim back in January, it was announced this week that the folk legend will be touring America with Wilco and My Morning Jacket over the Splendour weekend.
Alas, all will be revealed on Wednesday morning when Tom and Alex reveal the full lineup on Triple J.
