James Bay – Electric Light Tour

Multi-platinum singer-songwriter James Bay will again be crossing Australian waters this June. He will be doing a pair of shows—one in Melbourne and another in Sydney—in celebration of the release of his newest album ‘Electric Light’. He also has a slot at this year’s Splendour In The Grass.

‘Electric Light’ came out last 18 May under Republic Records as Bay’s second studio album. It is tagged by critics as a diverse record containing elements of indie-rock, hip hop, pop and R&B. Some of the singles on the album include ‘Pink Lemonade’, ‘Us’, ‘Wild Love’ and ‘Just For Tonight’. Bay will be performing these songs along with all the bangers off the album live, on the upcoming tour.

Just some words critics have to say about James Bay’s live shows:

"Bay's performance had a hint of attitude, a touch of swagger, and charisma in spades. The performance was polished, but not to the point it seemed choreographed. Raw talent made sure of that." - Sydney Morning Herald

"James Bay and his band picked me up and shook me completely out of my critique’s head space. Rather than being there for the expressed purpose of reviewing the show, i simply became a fan." - The AU Review

James Bay first burst into the music scene in 2013 but it was not until 2015 that he released his debut album ‘Chaos and the Calm’. The album went double platinum and featured the double platinum hit ‘Hold Back The River’ and his Billboard chart-topping single ‘Let It Go’. Five years young in the business, Bay shows signs of evolution. Gone are his signature long hair and fedora hat and his music has grown from acoustic ballads to experimental songs, as could be heard in his latest work.

Joining him as special guest will be Aussie songstress Gretta Ray. Gretta made her music debut in 2016 with her EP ‘Everywhere’. That same year, she won triple j Unearthed High, a contest for bands and songwriters alike, as well as the Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition.
