The Grammy Award-winning rapper 50 Cent, is returning to Australia in February next year to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the release of his debut album, Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. He will be performing at the Parramatta Park in Sydney before whooping it up with fans at the Melbourne Showgrounds.
Get Rich Or Die Tryin' has been an influential work not only in the Rap and Hip Hop industry but also in the life of 50 Cent himself. Released in February 2003—three years after he miraculously survived the shooting incident where he incurred nine gunshot wounds—the album conquered Billboard 200's top spot and cemented 50 Cents' reputation as one of the institutions in Rap music.
Produced by two other US rap giants Eminem and Dr. Dre, Get Rich Or Die Tryin' spawned the club anthems 'In da Club', 'P.I.M.P.' and '21 Questions'. As of 2016, the album has sold in excess of eight million copies in the U.S., achieving 8x Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
