Our invitation is to dance for rain as an offering to all those areas around Australia impacted by bushfires. As a practical step 100% of Net Proceeds will go to the CFA and Wires (wildlife care). As we begin Dance the Divine for 2020 we take a moment to send our prayer of love for drenching rains. Funds raised will go to much neended supplies in Victoria and NSW.

Background to Dance the Divine:
An emerging movement practice that invites participants to bring deeper awareness to their bodies. Through focussing on intention, the breath, sound and movement we access the story of the body. Then with dance as the main resource we are seemingly finding ways to begin the repattern our stories individually and collectively.

"A welcome practice on the Melbourne Dance scene, not just about release!"

Founders:
Yoko Maeda
Contemporary Dancer
After exploring many forms Yoko found herself in a New York dance company performing Contemporary African and touring the world. Her quest to explore and experience many dance forms came from her desire to know herself through her body. She brings to classes her Mastery in Contact Improvisation, Zouk and Modern Release Technique. A truly inspiring dancer!

Robby McDowell
Recreational Dancer
Having been laughed at as a teen ballroom dancer he has also studied many forms including Sacred Dance and rituals with Koori Elders. Loves the power of ritual for inner reflection and transformation.
